Obituary for Isabella E. Dineen

Isabella E. Dineen
Isabella E. Dineen, 97, formerly of Fayetteville, passed peacefully away Monday March 6, 2017 at Chesterfield’s Healthcare in Chester, CT.
She was born in Dalmuir, Scotland on February 8, 1920 and was the daughter of James and Isabella English. As a child in Scotland, Isa practiced sewing and traditional sword dancing, and she loved being outdoors. She moved to the United States with her parents and brother, James in 1929. Isa married William C. Dineen in Syracuse in 1942.
After the end of WWII, as her husband was stationed in Germany, Isa bravely crossed the Atlantic to join him, pregnant and with a two year old in tow. Upon returning to the states, they moved to Fayetteville and had three more children together. This is where she became a pioneer of organic gardening, president of the local garden club, an artist and seamstress. Isa also loved golf with her husband and put up with skiing with the family.
She eventually moved to CT where she was surrounded by family, pets, the outdoors and lots of friends.
She is predeceased by her husband, William; her parents; and brother, James English. Isa is survived by three daughters, Katheryn (Ronald) Balduzzi of Baldwinsville, Nancy (Edmund) Vianney of Branford, CT and Janet (Scott) Nelson of Deep River, CT; two sons, William (Jane) Dineen of Tucson, AZ and Michael (Patricia) Dineen of Houston, TX; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one great grandchild on the way.
Calling hours will be Saturday, March 11 from 9 to 11 am at the Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St, Fayetteville. A funeral will follow the calling hours at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 am. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
