Obituary for Dorothy M. Hiney

The world has lost a special lady. Dorothy M. Hiney,96, of Manlius died December 27, 2016. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse Area, she graduated from Nottingham High School, and retired from Bristol-Myers in 1980. She was a member of the Manlius UMC.
Dot was predeceased by her husband, Gerald V. Hiney in 1960. She is survived by her son Gregg (Barbara) Hiney, her brother John (Florence) Maines, and three generations of nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered as a wonderful friend who gave good advice and honest opinions. She celebrated everyone's special days with greeting cards and brightened family gatherings with her great home cooking. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Calling hours will be January 2, 2017 from 3 to 5pm at the Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Road, Manlius. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 5pm. A private Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse.
