Catherine Ninette Kristoff, 86, of Fayetteville, joined her beloved husband Chris Dimitri Kristoff and dearest son Daniel Joseph Kristoff on Wednesday surrounded by her loving children, Cynthia, Jim and his wife Teresa. She was born in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Joseph and Marion Medicis. Cathy was a Registered Nurse and attended Syracuse General Hospital Nursing School where she graduated proudly with the class of 1952. Cathy loved her family and their celebrations, luncheons with nursing classmates over a period of 65 years, singing and harmonizing with her sisters, cooking delicious meals, the color pink and enjoying her home and neighbors in Fayetteville where she resided most of her life. Her hobbies included collecting and crafting miniatures, and she was a member of The Syracuse Area Miniature Enthusiasts, where she perfected her craft and developed wonderful friendships. She was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville and was active with Meals on Wheels. Cathy will always be remembered for her gentle advice, kindness, intelligence and absolutely beautiful smile.
Cathy is survived by her children, Cynthia (Tim) Straub of Madison, CT and James (Teresa) of Jamesville; two sisters, Julia Ringham and Ninette (Leon) Haar; three brothers, Walter (Nadia) Medicis, Joe (Nancy) Medicis and Vincent (Ellen) Medicis; beloved grandmother of Jessica (Mark), Joshua (Kassandra), Matthew (Liza) and Eden; great-grandmother of Noah, Vienna, Conrad and Garth, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, May 7 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 East Genesee Street, Fayetteville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, May 8 at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs Street, Fayetteville. Committal services will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
