Obituary for George Charles Curtis

George Charles  Curtis
George Charles Curtis, 90, of Manlius, passed away Tuesday at home in the presence of his family. He was born in Rhinebeck, NY, the son of the late Sanford and Lillian Curtis. At age 17, George enlisted in the Marine Corps. He proudly served during WWII and the Korean War.
George married Theresa (Martin) in 1949, and they were married for 41 loving years until Theresa passed away in 1991.
George was a Second Vice President of Chase Manhattan Bank at the time of his retirement. While holding the position, he traveled extensively around the world.
George enjoyed the company of his family and many friends. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida. George also loved playing golf. He was a charter member of the Woodcrest Golf Club.
Surviving are daughters, Ann (Thomas) Kelly, Kathy (Jerry) Glum, Susan (Lynn Merrilees) Curtis-Miller; son, Thomas Curtis; ten grand-children; nine great-grandchildren; and loving companion, Violet Rossomano.
At George’s request, the services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central New York, 990 Seventh North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.
