Obituary for Marylou Curley Anagnost

Marylou Curley Anagnost, 85, of Manlius passed away peacefully Friday from complications of COPD bringing on pneumonia. Marylou was born to Cornelius Curley and Florence Wickham Curley. She graduated from Norwich High School class of 1949. While in high school she worked at W T Grant department store rising from clerk to office manager. After graduating from high school, Marylou joined the Chenango and Unadilla Telephone Company, working as an engineer (without receiving the title) in a predominately male oriented profession. Marylou was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Marylou joined John Anagnost in marriage on June 22, 1957 at St. Paul’s church in Norwich. Following marriage, she was a working mother employed by the C & U Credit Union, Marshall Law Office, Catholic Charities, St. Paul’s School and St Paul’s Church.
Marylou enjoyed bowling and golf. Following retirement, Marylou and John traveled extensively to many countries including, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Ireland, and Greece among several others.
Marylou loved her family. Surviving are; her husband of nearly sixty years John; daughters, Elizabeth (Matthew) Henderson, Teresa (Francois) Crevier; son, Stephen (Susan) Anagnost; beloved grand-children, Marybeth and Christina Anagnost, Daniel and Jack Henderson, Zachary and Allison Crevier; brother Bill (Beverly) Curley; sister in law Brenda Curley and several nieces and nephews. Marylou is predeceased by her parents, and brother Andrew.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Rd. Manlius. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m at St. Ann’s Church, 104 Academy St. Manlius.
