Obituary for James David Josephson

Print
James D. Josephson, 53, of Manlius passed away at home Monday. He was born in Portchester, NY, the son of Robert and Betty Josephson. Jim graduated from Rye High School and Alfred University.
Jim was a successful investment counselor for more than 25 years and worked with a number of financial institutions in the Rye and Syracuse areas.  He most recently was a Financial Advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors.  Regardless of his affiliation, his focus was always on the financial well-being of his clients.  He had a unique ability to build enduring personal relationships and his extensive network of friends and family mourn his passing.
Jim was an avid golfer and a fixture on the Manlius sports scene where he was an active supporter of the athletic activities of his three children.  He was an avid story-teller and used that ability to establish relationships that fueled his professional and personal lives.  His gregarious personality left an indelible impression on everyone that was lucky enough to call him a friend.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Betty Josephson. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Josephson; daughter, Megan Elizabeth Josephson, freshman at Penn State University; sons Henry David Josephson, senior at Fayetteville-Manlius High School, Charles Edward Josephson, sophomore at Fayetteville-Manlius High School; sister, Brita (Tom Gleason) Josephson of Westwood, MA; brothers, Thomas (Maureen) Josephson of Portchester, NY and Marc (Lynn) Josephson of Rye, NY; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Morgan and Marlene Davis; sister-in-law, Lynn (David) Lansdowne; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Jennifer) Davis; nieces, Kristin Rowson, Ashley and Chelsea Lansdowne, Emma Davis; nephews, Morgan Davis, Kurt, Declan, Michael and Max Josephson, Alex and Steven Gleason; and grand-nephew, David Josephson
