Obituary for Ralph Monforte Jr.

Ralph Monforte Jr., 84, of Syracuse, passed away at home on Friday. He was born in Syracuse on December 21, 1931. He enlisted in the Marine Corps on April 10, 1951 and fought in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged and received the Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
Ralph retired from Falso– AirTrol as a heating and air conditioning tech after 54 years of service. He was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Liverpool. Ralph enjoyed fishing with his family, bowling, golf, baseball and world traveling with his wife.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary F. Sidello Monforte; daughter, Janet M. Monforte of Plymouth, MA; son and daughter-in-law, Ralph M. and Maryann P. Monforte of Cazenovia; five grandchildren, Lauren Monforte, Matthew (Dana) Monforte, Nathanial Monforte, R. Andrew Monforte, and Julia Fiedler; several nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Services will be 10:15 am Monday at Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville and 11:00 am at Holy Cross Church, 4112 E. Genesee St., DeWitt. Burial with military honors will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Syracuse. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the VA Medical Center, 800 Irving Ave., Syracuse, NY 13210.
